Biography

Deborah Lambert lives in California.  She received her BFA from the University of Southern California and MFA from the Academy of Art University San Francisco.  Deborah spent a total of 10 years in the U.S. Navy and worked for many years in the information management field.  In her recent work, she explores the painting process through the structure of experience, memory and movement and defines her work as a kinetic self-portrait.  Her work does not focus on a single subject but is a collective of ideas and expressions imbued with life experiences.  She spent many years in the information management business developing programs to process, organize and present various data.  While straddling the corporate and art worlds, a parallel between the information management and painting process became apparent to her.  Deborah saw how in both art and computer programming, information is processed either with complex logic, intuition or a combination of both.  Each employs the organization of elements and a developed means of presenting the results of the completed process.  In Deborah’s case the process results in visually expressive paintings that invite the viewer to also consider the process of painting.
